A young girl who was found unresponsive in a pool at a Pompano Beach home last week has died, and homicide detectives are investigating her death, officials announced Tuesday.

Nola Hazlett, 2, of Ambler, Pennsylvania, was hospitalized the morning of Aug. 15 after officials responded to the vacation rental in the 3200 block of Canal Drive, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

She was taken by fire rescue to Holy Cross Hospital and then to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 2-year-old girl is in critical condition after she nearly drowned in a pool in Pompano Beach. NBC 6’s Marissa Bagg reports.

Hazlett died Aug. 17 at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, detectives said.
