Police were looking for a man who may have burglarized a Haitian church in Miami twice in two weeks.
The most recent burglary at Haitian Emmanuel Baptist Church happened Monday night. The church administrator said he believes the man walked into the building at the end of the service at around 9 p.m. and hid inside for hours.
Surveillance video showed the thief filling up a large bag with everything inside a vending machine. He also stole TVs, sound equipment and musical instruments, all worth around $5,000 or more.
"We are at this point frustrated, but also sad, because we think about a house of worship, some place sacred," said Wilfrid Pierre, the church administrator. "Who would break into that?"
The staff believes the same man broke into the church on Sept. 16 and stole a 65-inch TV.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
