‘He Was My Baby': Family of Man Murdered on Halloween Beg Community for Help

The parents of a 19-year-old young man who was shot and killed on Halloween night are begging anyone with information to come forward to help them solve their son's murder.

According to Miami-Dade Police, Brandon McGuire was walking from a friend's house in the area of Northwest 143rd Street and Northwest 15th Drive in northwest Miami-Dade when he was shot and killed. He was gunned down just before 8 p.m., police said.

The past month and a half has been agonizing for his family with no leads and no arrests.

"I get up every night. I can't sleep," his father, Patrick McGuire, said through tears Monday from police headquarters. "I follow him. He speaks to me."

His mother, Brenda McGuire, said he was supposed to go trick-or-treating with his sisters that night when she received the devastating phone call.

Brandon was less than a block away from his home when he was gunned down.

"He took care of me," were the words of his tearful mother. "He protected me."

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
