Heat Announce Preseason Schedule

The Miami Heat released their schedule for the preseason on Tuesday

The Miami Heat announced their schedule for the preseason on Tuesday which is set to begin on Oct. 4 in Washington, D.C.

Following up on a busy off-season, Miami will into game shape with a eights-game preseason slate. The Heat will be without the services of Dwyane Wade after the franchise player left for Chicago. Miami will also have several new names on the bench looking for playing time ahead of the season.

With Chris Bosh's playing status unknown and several guard choices, Erik Spoelstra and his staff will keep a close eye on the exhibition action. Starting jobs can be won and lost during the contests. The win-loss record in these games will be meaningless, but the production will be important for several bubble players.

The aforementioned first game of the preseason against the Washington Wizards will start at 7:00 p.m. Four days later, the Heat will travel to the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO for a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Miami will be considered the home team for the October 8th contest. The exhibition game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m.

On October 11th, Miami will take the court at American Airlines Arena for the first time in the preseason. The Brooklyn Nets will be in town for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Heat will hold two other games on their home-court during the preseason. The Orlando Magic will make a visit on October 18th and the Philadelphia 76ers will stop by on October 21st. Both of those games will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Between the home games, the Heat will travel to San Antonio and Charlotte for road games on October 14th and 20th respectively. Miami will also act as the home team for a game against the Timberwolves in Louisville, Kentucky on October 15th.

Miami's regular season schedule will be announced at a later date.
