Henne Back Tracks From Tebow Into T.O.

Henne would like to throw balls to T.O. Hopefully, he is kidding.

It's one thing to criticize Superman. That will only get you hung in effigy among the Gator Nation faithful.

But that doesn't mean you have to jump on a bowl full of hand grenades to make up for it.

Enter Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne, who recently came out and slapped Tim Tebow with a hand full of Kryptonite and said he would not be an NFL quarterback.

Well reporters approached the usually reserved and non-controversial QB to reiterate the comments and in a tribute to the late Michael Jackson, Henne tried to moonwalk his way out of it. Only he back pedaled right into a land mine when he started changing the subject to Terrell Owens.

"I didn't really say he wasn't wasn't able to be one," Henne said at a celebrity golf tournament today accordig to the Miami Herald. "We're all in this process, learning how to be an NFL quarterback."

He could have stopped there and been OK, but the frazzled QB gathered his composure about as well as a rookie facing an all-out blitz from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Soon talk shifted to wide receivers and without any instigation on the reporters part, Henne mentioned "the player," as Bill Parcells likes to call T.O.

"There's definitely guys out there, like you said," Henne said. "There's T.O. There's Brandon Marshall. There's guys in the draft," Henne said. "But you need kind of a veteran guy that's really going to take hold of our young guys and teach them the right ways."

That last comment would pretty much strike Owens out of the conversation.

Owens has about as much of a chance at landing a contract with the Dolphins as, well, Tebow has at being the starting QB for the Phins. You can put your calculators away. The answer is none. No chance. No way. No how.

As for Henne, he should try to keep his mouth shut the rest of this off season and stop wishing the worst on himself. Be happy with the bad situation at wide receiver you already have.
