Ultra Music Festival is upon us once again. But for the first time in many years, the event is being held at a different venue.
The 3-day festival will take place Friday, March 29th through Sunday, March 31st and will be held on Virginia Key, combining two properties: the Miami Marine Stadium Flex Park and the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park.
Parking and Transportation
Virginia Key is a unique venue. While scenic and historic, it poses some setbacks when it comes to transportation. There is only one way to get on and off the island by car and that’s using the Rickenbacker Causeway. Ultra Music Festival organizers and city officials say they have devised a plan to help mitigate possible traffic disruptions.
Ultra says parking is not available on Virginia Key. As a result, they are offering complimentary shuttle service from three separate transportation hubs throughout the city of Miami. Festivalgoers must have a valid ticket in order to get on the shuttles.
The three hubs can be found at the following locations:
- Shuttle Hub A: Arts & Entertainment District (Arsht Center Station) – 1431 N. Bayshore Drive Miami, FL 33132
- Shuttle Hub B: AmericanAirlines Arena – 601 Biscayne Blvd. Miami, FL 33132
- Shuttle Hub C: Vizcaya – 3201 SW 1st Ave. Miami, FL 33129
Festival organizers recommend that attendees take advantage of public transportation:
- Those going to Shuttle Hub A can take Metromover to the Adrienne Arsht Metromover Station
- Those going to Shuttle Hub B can take Metromover to the Freedom Tower Station
- Those going to Shuttle Hub C can take Metrorail to the Vizcaya Metrorail station.
Those wishing to drive to the shuttle hubs can find parking at various lots and garages in the area.
Festivalgoers can opt to use ridesharing apps like Uber and Lyft. But those wishing to do so should know that ridesharing drivers will drive passengers into the festival, but will not pick them up once the event concludes.
Ultra says that they will have more than 230 busses on hand at the end of the event, shuttling festivalgoers to the three shuttle hubs.
Ultra is also offering water taxis as an alternate method of transportation. The General Admission ferry hub can be found at Bayside Marketplace, which is located at 401 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132. Parking is available at the Bayside Marketplace parking garage.
According to Ultra’s website, those wishing to add a 3-day ferry pass will cost $149.95 and is sold as an add-on to the festival ticket. Ultra says ferry service will begin at noon on Friday and at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and will run until each attendee has made it back to each hub from the festival. The ferry will take approximately 30 minutes to reach Virginia Key from Bayside Marketplace.
Festivalgoers who purchased a 3-day VIP wristband will have access to complimentary VIP boat service. That hub can be found at the Intercontinental Hotel, which is located at 100 Chopin Plaza, Miami, FL 33131. Guests wishing to reach the Intercontinental Hotel can take Metromover to the Bayfront Park Metromover stop or park at the hotel’s garage.
