Hialeah Police have arrested a man they said inappropriately touched a woman with Down syndrome.
Jose Abrego, 36, is accused of leading the victim to the bushes near 79th Street and West 4th Avenue in Hialeah.
Police said they found him on top of the victim with his pants pulled down around his legs. The victim told officers Abrego continued to touch her outside of her clothes, despite her attempts to stop him.
Police believe Abrego may have been intoxicated at the time of his arrest.
He was in bond court on Tuesday morning, where he was held on $60,000 for sexually battery and attempted kidnapping.
If he posts bond, Abrego will be required to surrender his passport and stay on house arrest. There's no word on whether he has an attorney.
