A high school in Coral Springs was placed on lockdown as police investigated what they call a "suspicious incident."

Police said that J.P. Taravella High School was in a code red, but there was no immediate threats to the school during the incident.

Officials told NBC News that someone reported a "suspicious person" near the campus, but that no weapon was seen. Police searched the campus to make sure there is no one on the school's property before giving the all clear.

"We identified the circumstances involving the initial suspicious person call & confirmed no threat or danger to the school. The Code Red has been lifted from JPT HS & school will resume normal activities," Coral Springs Police tweeted.

Offiicals have not released additional details at this time.
