H&M Store Makes Its Debut In South Florida

A pop-up shop opens Friday at noon on Meridian Avenue

H&M is finally coming to Miami, with a pop-up store opening on Friday.

The shop makes its debut Friday at noon at 1669 Meridian Avenue in Miami Beach with exclusive summer looks for South Florida fashionistas.

Until now, the closest location of the Swedish shop with high-end fashion at frugal prices has been in West Palm Beach, an hour and a half away.

"We've been looking forward for years to come here to Miami and we have had our fans basically begging us to come,” said Marybeth Schmitt, the head of communications for H&M.

"I love getting trendy pieces for a great price, it's fast fashion. Things change, they update, you get things like at the moment," said South Florida fashionista Ria Michelle, who used to take the drive to West Palm to get her H&M fashion fix.

The pop-up store is a small preview of what’s to come this fall, when a flagship H&M store opens at the historic Lincoln Theatre on Lincoln Road. The pop-up will remain open through September.

"They have a lot of nice things here now and we can afford it!” shopper Loyndon Silvia said. “You tell me, I am crazy about this store! It's going to be my second home now!"
