What to Know
- Leandro Mlodziejewski, 28, is accused of raping a teenage girl, then trying to record it, at a Publix restroom in Hollywood.
- He is also accused of sexually assaulting the same girl and a 20-year-old woman in a past encounter in front of two minors.
A Hollywood man tried to record himself raping a teen in a Publix restroom, and then threatened the girl he would post the video online in an attempt to keep her silent, police say.
Leandro Mlodziejewski, 28, is facing two counts of sexual battery of a minor and two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior in the presence of a minor in the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl, who was 16 at the time of one of the incidents, according to an arrest form from the Hollywood Police Department.
According to the arrest form, Mlodziejewski knows the victim because his younger sister is dating the victim's younger brother. On June 27, Mlodziejewski allegedly sexually assaulted the then-16-year-old and a 20-year-old woman, while the two girls were both intoxicated and possibly drugged, in front of his sister and the victim's brother.
On Saturday night, the four went to the Publix on Polk Street to get some food. The victim told police Mlodziejewski put his hands down her pants several times as they walked through the supermarket.
Mlodziejewski then led her into the family restroom, forced her against the changing table and allegedly raped her. While he was trying to record the encounter with his cellphone, the victim was able to push him off and leave, police said.
Angry, Mlodziejewski told her girl to "act normal" or else he will post the video online, the victim told detectives. As they continued to shop, he demanded she kiss him.
Mlodziejewski drove the victim and the others to North Beach Park, where he allegedly tried to coerce her into having sex in a wooded area. When she refused, he became upset. He drove his sister and the victim home without incident.
Mlodziejewski's sister and the victim's brother both told police Mlodziejewski kept touching the victim and telling her he wanted to have sex with her as they drove to the Publix and that it made them uncomfortable because they both knew he was aware of the victim's age. The two also confirmed the June 27 incident to police.
Mlodziejewski, a U.S. citizen who was born in Argentina, was arrested in his Hollywood home Tuesday and was being held at the Broward County jail on a $200,000 bond. He appeared in court Wednesday, where he was deemed a flight risk and a judge ordered he surrender his passport and avoid contact with the victims and any minors if released.
