A home invasion victim who was shot in the neck Wednesday was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition, Miami Police said.
The woman sought help at a beauty salon at 60 NW 69th Ave., near West Flagler Street, after the violent home invasion that took place around the corner at her house, police said.
The woman ran into the beauty salon at about 1:30 p.m., telling people there that she had been robbed, Miami Police spokeswoman Officer Kenia Reyes said.

Business owners immediately called police and tried to help the woman. Violeta Ramos, who works in the area, said in Spanish that the victim was bleeding badly. She left a trail of bloody footprints at the salon.
“We have two immensely bloody scenes. We have very little information, but what we've been able to get is that two men, possibly Latin, have been involved in this crime," Reyes said.
The woman was undergoing surgery at the hospital, she said.
