Homeless Father, Son Accused in Orlando Purse Snatching Spree

A homeless father and son are suspected in a string of purse snatchings that began on Christmas Eve in the Orlando area.

The Orlando Sentinel reports 51-year-old Kevin Henderson Sr. and his 19-year-old son who is also named Kevin Henderson are in jail. They face multiple charges including robbery and battery.

Orange County deputies say the pair had been living in a car for about three weeks when the robbery spree started. They snatched purses from women in parking lots of supermarkets and drug stores.

A tipster told authorities that a car matching the one the Hendersons were using was at an apartment complex. An Orlando police officer spotted it and arrested the pair.

Jail records don't indicate whether the Hendersons have obtained an attorney.
