Deputies are investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains found by a homeless man.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office reports the bones were found early Saturday near Ormond Beach, about five miles north of Daytona Beach.
A homeless man called 911 and led deputies to the discovery, about 50 feet from the road and near a homeless camp.
Investigators say the bones appear to be old and were naturally bleached and covered in mold.
The county medical examiner will assess the remains. The sheriff's office major case unit is investigating.
