Homestead Child Rushed to Hospital After Being Hit By Car

A five-year-old was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car in Homestead early Thursday morning.

Police say the child, who was being in a cart with another child that was being hauled by his father on a bike, was struck at the intersection of NW 19th Street and NW 10th Terrace. The children were being taken to school when they were struck.

The child was rushed to Kendall Regional Medical Center with a broken femur. The driver of the car stayed on scene and was given a ticket for careless driving. Neither the father nor the other child was hurt.
