Authorities are investigating after human remains were found near Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale Tuesday.
The remains were found around 1:20 p.m. at 851 Eller Drive, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.
The area where the remains were found is heavily wooded and on private property.
BSO officials said the woods are known to be a place where homeless people congregate.
Homicide detectives are investigating the death, though it doesn't appear to be suspicious, officials said.
