Husband and Wife Victims of Violent Robbery in Miami

Miami Police are looking for a pair of thieves who robbed a husband and wife and pistol-whipped and fired shots at the man early Saturday.

The incident happened in the area of Northwest 23rd Avenue and 32nd Street when the suspects approached the couple outside their home, police said.

The victims told NBC 6 in Spanish that the wife was thrown against a fence and the husband was pistol-whipped. One of the suspects then went into their home and stole a TV set, while the other suspect stole the woman's purse.

Police said the suspects fled on foot and the husband tried to chase them. The suspects fired shots at the man but no one was hit, police said.

Victim Mayra Pimentel said she and her husband own a Cuban cafeteria and were leaving to open the store when the attack happened.

Husband Aneiro Pi said the men ordered him to the ground and when he refused, they pistol-whipped him.

The pair was last seen leaving the area in a dark-colored, newer model vehicle, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
