I-95 Express Plastic Pole Installation Project Starts

The second phase of the I-95 express project starts Monday night.

Construction workers will begin installing plastic poles late Monday and will continue throughout the week along northbound I-95 from the Golden Glades interchange to the Broward County line about one-half mile south of Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

Starting at 5 a.m. Tuesday, the northbound express lane exit located north of the Golden Glades Flyover will be closed, and the permanent exit point will now be south of Ives Dairy Road.

Drivers seeking to exit northbound on I-95 at Miami Gardens Drive will have to exit the express lanes south of the Golden Glades interchange at Northwest 151st Street.

Tolling in phase 2 won't begin until construction is over, but motorists will still pay tolls in the existing express lanes.

The project is expected to be completed this summer.
