Man Distracts Publix Shopper During Wallet Theft

Surveillance cameras captured a man distracting a shopper at a Publix in Weston while another unzipped her purse and stole her wallet while she wasn't looking.

The victim did not notice her wallet was missing until she arrived at checkout. Publix staff reviewed the surveillance footage and saw the theft unfold.

Former Substitute Teacher Gets State License After Being Fired

A state law passed in 2018 requires school districts to report teacher misconduct to the state within 30 days, even if that teacher was no longer employed by the school.

But the NBC 6 Investigators found it does not cover uncertified substitute teachers. A Broward County substitute teacher was able to get a teaching license after being fired for related allegations.
