'My Dad Fought for His Life': Son of Businessman Killed in Bahamas

The son of a South Florida businessman who was shot and killed in the Bahamas believes his father could have been saved if authorities had allowed him to be flown off the island for medical care.

Alain Perez was shot at his Bimini Bay home early Sunday and died before his family could get him to doctors in South Florida. In an exclusive interview with NBC 6 on Tuesday, son Jose Perez said the family tried.

"My dad fought for his life for about three hours," Perez said. "There's a lot of things that we were doing, a lot of people that was over there that were helping, that were trying to do everything possible to get him out of the island."

Florida Teen Swimmers Pray for Help, Rescued by Boat Called 'Amen'

A pair of Florida teens saw their prayers answered after becoming stranded about 2 miles from shore. 

The Christ's Church Academy students say they were holding onto each other and praying to God for help just before Captain Eric Wagner and his crew spotted them. The boat was called the Amen.

Walt Disney World Smoking Ban, New Stroller Rules Now In Effect

Walt Disney World’s parkwide ban on smoking – as well as new rules involving strollers – take effect Wednesday, May 1.

The smoking ban applies to Walt Disney World, all Disneyland theme parks, water parks, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and Downtown Disney District in California. The news, first reported in March, pertains to both cigarettes and vaping pens, the company said.
