A section of I-95 near Daytona Beach was shut down for several hours after a man committed suicide on the side of the highway.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that authorities closed a section of the highway near its intersection with I-4 on Friday, as law enforcement officers responded to reports of a suicidal man with a gun parked on the shoulder of the highway.
Officers in Ormond Beach, which is near Daytona Beach, initially responded to a report of domestic violence between a man and a woman at an apartment complex in Ormond Beach.
Authorities say the man got into a car and then headed south of Interstate 95.
