Investigation Continues Into Fatal Wilton Manors Hit-and-Run

The Broward Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a hit-and-run crash that left a Wilton Manors man dead. Investigators have now released new video of the victim as he walked home.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. June 10 near 2700 Northeast 6th Avenue and 27th Court in Wilton Manors.

BSO said 39-year-old Raymond King was hurt and bleeding when he was run over by an unidentified vehicle. It happened just two days before his 40th birthday.

Blood evidence from the scene suggests that King had walked near the sidewalk along the eastside of 6th Avenue. He came to rest in the middle of the northbound lane where a large pool of blood was found.

It is unknown how King became injured prior to entering the roadway. Once on the road, the victim was run over by a vehicle traveling northbound and estimated to be moving at 30 miles per hour.

The driver of the vehicle did not remain on scene.

The impact moved the victim's body approximately 37 feet onto the grass near the roadway. He died at the scene.

Detectives have released video of King as he walked home, just before he was struck.
