Jackson Health System announced plans today to expand with a new outpatient campus in Doral.
The group announced plans to purchase a 27-acre parcel of land at 7800 N.W. 29th Street which will be become known as "Jackson West."
Immediate plans for the site include a free-standing emergency room/urgent care center for adults and children, as well as a children’s ambulatory center for specialized pediatric care. Long-term plans could include the creation of a medical mall that will offer services such as same-day surgery, outpatient cardiac catheterization, dialysis, chemotherapy, outpatient rehabilitation, a wellness center, and more.
A press release from the City of Doral indicates that "Jackson West" must still be approved at the County level and go through the city's regular development process.
The release also expressed that the city is excited about the prospect of being the site of "Jackson West," indicating that it has been an ongoing desire of the entire City Council to attract enhanced health care services to Doral.
Doral already hosts urgent care centers by world-class health care providers like Baptist Health South Florida and Miami Children’s Hospital, and Jackson West’s state-of-the-art outpatient campus, featuring emergency room, ambulatory center and urgent care facilities for children and adults.
