Japanese Warships Cruise Into Port Everglades

A pair of Japanese warships cruised into Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale Friday as part of a five-city tour of the United States.

The two ships from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force will be in Fort Lauderdale through the weekend. The ships are on a 164-day training voyage that began in May.

During the voyage, the ships will travel approximately 35,000 miles with stops at ports in Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Canada, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea.
