Jason Taylor Foundation to Host Florida Poetry Contest “Louder Than A Bomb”

The Jason Taylor Foundation is hosting a poetry contest for Florida's top youth poets.

A cutting-edge event, named "Louder Than A Bomb" will begin April 8 and last until April 18.

“Louder Than a Bomb empowers and unites youth and their respective communities. I know that it will have a lasting impact,” said Seth Levit, Executive Director of the Jason Taylor Foundation.

The arts and educational project will feature a friendly spoken-word competition between poetry teams representing local high schools from Broward and Miami-Dade counties and more.

The 11-day festival is being funded by Nova Southeastern University and the Miami Dolphins Foundation and Knight Foundation.

On Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m., NBC 6 will air a 30-minute special on Zoharian Williams, a high school senior who credits spoken word poetry with saving his life.
