Jordan Parsons, MMA Fighter, Dies After Hit-and-Run in Delray Beach

Mixed Martial Arts fighter Jordan Parsons has died after being injured in a hit-and-run crash in Delray Beach over the weekend, officials said.

Parsons, 25, was pronounced dead Wednesday at Delray Medical Center, Delray Beach Police confirmed.

Parsons was walking west across Federal at Lindell Boulevard Sunday around 12:35 a.m. in the south side of the intersection. That's when Delray Beach police say the vehicle hit him and kept moving, leaving Parsons lying in the roadway.

Police are looking for a silver Range Rover Sport, likely either a 2012 or 2013 model, in connection with Sunday's crash. The car's driver side mirror is missing, and it likely has damage to the driver's side headlight and bumper area.

It's too early to determine who had the right of way, police say. Parsons was wearing headphones at the time of the crash and might not have heard the car coming.

Parsons, 25, is a Featherweight prospect who spent his last three fights competing for Bellator MMA. The North Dakota native currently trains at Jaco Hybrid Training Center in Boca Raton.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS.
