Man Found Guilty in Hollywood Gang Rape Case

A man accused of in the 2013 gang rape of a Hollywood girl was found guilty Tuesday as he took the stand in his own defense.

Jayvon Woolfork was accused of raping the 16-year-old girl at his home in November 2013. Four teens are already serving time for beating the victim.

A jury found Woolfork guilty of sexual battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment.

Woolfork had to be escorted out of the courtroom after an outburst Tuesday.

"Show me the evidence. Show me the evidence," he told the prosecutor as he took the stand. Woolfork admitted to having sex with the victim but denied it was rape. "I said it was consensual."

He later backtracked and said he didn't have sex at all when asked by the prosecutor, adding that he doesn't remember much from that night.

Throughout the trial, the jury has had to sit through disturbing cell phone video showing the violent beating on that evening. On Tuesday, one of the co-defendants, Lanel Singleton, was called by the defense. He didn't want to answer questions about that horrific night.

"I plead the fifth," Singleton said.

Since Singleton is already serving his four-year sentence, Judge Lisa Porter said he had to testify. He said he witnessed the beating but did not see any sexual acts, but his original statement to police was different.

Singleton did a fist motion to Woolfork when he left the courtroom. The defense argued that it is murky and unclear as to who was in the bedroom that night since they were all allegedly using drugs.

Dwight Henry, who is serving two years in prison in the case, also testified Tuesday. He said he was in the bedroom during the alleged sex assault and helped hold down the victim.

"Intercourse, I didn't see it but I knew it was going on. I looked away," he said.

Woolfork said that never happened.

"There was no held down, on the floor. There was no held down by all four of them. There was no taking off the bra on camera. There was none of that. All of that is a lie," he said.

Erika Avery also took the stand. She denied being in the room or holding down the victim during any sex acts.

Before the case went to the jury, Woolfork had another outburst.

"I'm in fear of my life. Please give me a new lawyer your honor. Please," he said.

Woolfork now faces 15 years to life in prison.
