Jury Chosen in '01 Slaying of Florida Businessman Gus Boulis

Trial scheduled to begin Sept. 30

A jury has been chosen for the trial of two men accused in the 2001 mob-related slaying of a prominent South Florida businessman.

But prosecutors said Tuesday the trial will begin Sept. 30.

Twelve jurors and four alternates will decide the fate of 75-year-old Anthony "Big Tony" Moscatiello and 56-year-old Anthony "Little Tony" Ferrari. They face first-degree murder charges and possibly the death penalty in the fatal shooting of Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis. He founded the Miami Subs restaurants and ran the SunCruz Casinos gambling fleet.

Boulis was shot dead in his car on a Fort Lauderdale street allegedly by a mob hit man. Moscatiello and Ferrari have pleaded not guilty. A third man indicted in the case pleaded guilty to murder conspiracy and is expected to testify for the prosecution.
