Justin Bieber Leaves Miami to Relief of Some Miami Beach Residents

The 19-year-old pop singer was free on bail Friday after an arrest on charges of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest.

After being arrested Thursday in Miami Beach, Justin Bieber has said goodbye to Miami and 'hola' to Panama, where many of his Twitter fans say he has been hanging out with model Chantel Jeffries.

The 19-year-old pop singer was free on bail Friday after an arrest on charges of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest. Miami Beach Police said Bieber smelled of alcohol when he was stopped after drag racing down a residential street early Thursday.

The ordeal created a frenzy of media attention and fan reaction, which some Miami Beach residents said they are glad to be rid of.

"I'm the happiest man in the world. We have our peace back," said Miami Beach resident Matthew Murphy.

Bieber reportedly spent thousands to crash at the Orchid House mansion on the beach. When he left Friday night through a back exit, it was to the sounds of high pitched screams from his many 'Beliebers.'

He thanked them Saturday, resurfacing on social media with an Instagram post and a tweet that said:

A traffic citation shows Bieber's blood alcohol level was .014 after a Breathalyzer test, but authorities said the singer was unable to pass field sobriety tests at the scene.

Meanwhile, three Opa-locka Police officers were suspended from their jobs Friday for giving the singer an unauthorized police escort from the Opa-locka Executive Airport Monday night. Internal affairs investigators are trying to find out how the escort was arranged and where police escorted Bieber, according to city officials.
