Juvenile Wanted for Driving Into Deputy Turns Himself In

A 15-year-old boy who authorities say ran over a Florida sheriff's deputy with a car last week has turned himself in.

The teen turned himself in Monday and was taken to a Juvenile Assessment Center.

He is facing charges of attempted murder on a law enforcement officer and aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office says the juvenile isn't cooperating.

The sheriff's office had been searching for him since Friday, when authorities say he drove into Sgt. Mary Pearce outside a home.

Pearce and a juvenile justice officer had come to the house to take the teen into custody on the juvenile-equivalent of a warrant.

Pearce had non-life-threatening injuries and was released from a hospital.

The Associated Press doesn't generally name juveniles charged with crimes.
