Ky. Teen on Crime Spree to Make Court Appearance in Fla.

A Kentucky sheriff says a teenager suspected of embarking on a crime spree across the South with his 13-year-old girlfriend just wants to come home.

Eighteen-year-old Dalton Hayes will make his first court appearance Monday in the Florida Panhandle. Hayes was being held Sunday in the Bay County jail on a charge of custodial interference.

Authorities plan to extradite the teens back to Kentucky, where Grayson County Sheriff Norman says they face charges including burglary, theft, criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.

Hayes' girlfriend will face the charges in juvenile court.

Chaffins tells The Associated Press that he spoke with Hayes and the teen is "very scared" and wants to come home.

Authorities say the two were arrested Sunday in Panama City Beach after being found sleeping in a stolen vehicle.
