‘Kissing Robber' Accused of Attacking Woman, Stealing Cellphone

A man faced a Miami-Dade judge on Thursday, accused of stealing a woman's cellphone while forcibly kissing her – earning him the name the "Kissing Robber."

Cristian Santana is accused of the incident that occurred Aug. 14. He was charged with strong-armed robbery and battery.

The female victim said she was outside by her car when Santana attacked her.

“The victim was trying to retrieve her headphones from the parking lot where the family car was parked," Miami-Dade Bond Court Judge Mindy Glazer said while reading the charges. "Defendant then rushed the victim, grabbing the left side of her face and neck in an attempt to kiss her on the lips.”

"He’s like the kissing robber," Glazer said.

Santana's bond was set at $7,500 but he was already under a prior house arrest over battery, grand theft and false imprisonment.
