Crews responded to a brush fire that was burning near buildings in southwest Miami-Dade Thursday.
The fire was reported in the area of Southwest 225th Street east of U.S. 1. Florida Forest Service officials said the fire was at about 70 acres and was 80 percent contained as of about 10 p.m.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews were on the scene and were providing "exposure protection" to nearby businesses, officials said.
Officials were advising residents in the area to close their windows and stay indoors if they have respiratory issues.

Nearby Bayou Road was shut down in both directions as a result. Drivers were asked to seek alternate routes.
No other information was immediately known.
