Final First Unofficial Results for 2018 Election in Florida

Here are the final results – named the first unofficial returns –  released for three key races from the midterm elections in Florida, which are all heading to a recount:

U.S. Senate:

Total votes – 8,184,631

Rick Scott, Republican – 4,098,107 (50.07 percent of total vote)

Bill Nelson, Democrat – 4,085,545 (49.92 percent of total vote)

Margin – 0.15 percent

Florida Governor:

Total votes – 8,218,682

Ron DeSantis/Jeanette Núñez, Republican – 4,075,879 (49.59 percent of total vote)

Andrew Gillum/Chris King, Democrat – 4,042,195 (49.18 percent of total vote)

Margin – 0.41 percent

Florida Commissioner of Agriculture:

Total votes – 8,055,348

Nicole "Nikki" Fried, Democrat – 4,030,337 (50.03 percent of total vote)

Matt Caldwell, Republican – 4,025,011 (49.97 percent of total vote)

Margin – 0.06 percent

Florida is a perennial swing state, and many of its elections have been decided by the thinnest of margins since 2000. The latest election is heading to a recount as tensions rise amid accusations of voter suppression and fraud.
