Police are investigating a scene in Miami this morning after a child was accidentally left in a Lyft vehicle by their mother – and then taken to their preschool by the driver.
According to officials, the mother called for the car service around 8 a.m. to take her and the child from their home off N.E. 86th Street to the preschool off 72nd Street and Byron Avenue in Miami Beach.
After loading the child in the car, the mother told the driver she needed to go back inside the home. At that point, officers say, the driver left with the child. The mother came out of the home and called police.
When they arrived at the preschool, the driver stayed on the scene and told officers he understood he had to transport the child.
Miami Police say the incident was a misunderstanding and that no charges would be filed in the case.
