Man Accused of Filming Up Woman's Skirt at IKEA in Sunrise

A man accused of filming up a woman's dress at the IKEA store in Sunrise is facing a video voyeurism charge, police said.

Jose Barrios, 59, was arrested Wednesday in the alleged incident that happened last month at the store on Northwest 136th Avenue, according to an arrest report.

The report said a witness saw the 24-year-old victim riding the escalator to the second floor with Barrios behind her. The witness saw Barrios put his cell phone under the woman's dress, the report said.

The witness said she yelled "you're sick" at Barrios and ran to the second floor to confront him. Barrios tried to flee but customers grabbed him and held him down until security arrived, the report said.

When officers responded Barrios told them he didn't know what was going on or why the witness was yelling at him, the report said. Barrios refused to allow officers to view his phone, according to the report.

The 24-year-old victim told officers she didn't want to pursue charges so Barrios was let go but police took his phone and placed it into evidence, the report said.

During an appearance in bond court Thursday, a prosecutor said investigators found 57 video clips associated with video voyeurism on the phone.

Barrios surrendered to police Wednesday night, his attorney said at the hearing. He was ordered held on $7,500 bond.
