Man Accused of Groping Women in South Florida Parks Out on Bond

The man arrested Tuesday for allegedly groping women in multiple South Florida parks is back on the streets after posting bond.

Ricardo Ruiz, 26, confessed to the allegations of incidents that occurred at Vista View Park in Davie, Brian Piccolo Park in Cooper City and a similar incident in Hollywood, Davie Police say.

The Hollywood man reportedly groped a woman's buttocks at Vista View park. The woman ran away but Ruiz chased her. Police said Ruiz eventually caught up to her and started groping the woman's genital area and buttocks again. The woman screamed and Ruiz ran away.

Authorities said the arrest was a joint effort with assistance from the Broward Sheriff's Office and Hollywood Police.

Court documents show Ruiz has prior offenses in Broward County. In 2011, he was charged with possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. In 2014, he faced charges of criminal mischief causing more than $1,000 in damages and possession of cannabis.

Anyone who believes they may have been one of Ruiz's victims is asked to call Davie Police at (954) 693-8200 or Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
