A 27-year-old man appeared in front of a judge Tuesday, accused of punching an 11-year-old boy while under the influence of alcohol.
Police said the victim was outside of his Margate apartment Sunday on Southwest 56th Terrace, playing with a toy helicopter, when Oliver Escobar grabbed him by the throat and punched him.
Escobar admitted that he drank tequila before attacking the child.
He's been charged with cruelty toward a child and disorderly intoxication.
