Dante Thorpe, 25, was arrested Thursday on four armed robbery counts in the crime spree that dates back to October, officials said.

Between Oct. 19 and Feb. 1, detectives have been investigating multiple robberies in which women traveled to Miami Gardens for a date after meeting Thorpe through social media escort ads, officials said.

Thorpe would direct the women to meet him at non-public locations, where he would rob them of their belongings at gunpoint, stealing purses, money, jewelry and phones, police said.

Thorpe was being held without bond Monday, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.

Detectives believe there may be more victims who haven't come forward, and are asking anyone with information to call them at 305-474-1615.
