Man and Woman Arrested in Violent Purse Snatching at Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale: Police

A man and woman have been arrested in a violent robbery of an elderly woman at the Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale, police said.

Cameo Rose, 30, and John Gregory Moore, 26, were arrested in the Jan. 28 robbery at the mall's parking garage at 2414 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale Police said Wednesday.

Both are charged with robbery, and Rose was also charged with battery on a person over 65. Rose remained behind bars on $6,000 bond Wednesday, Broward jail records showed. Moore wasn't listed in jail records and no attorney information was available.

According to police, the elderly victim was in the parking garage when her purse was torn from her shoulder and she was knocked to the ground. She was able to give officers a description of at least one suspect and the suspect's car, police said.

A car matching the description was stopped by officers in the 1400 block of East Sunrise Boulevard, where Rose and Moore were taken into custody.
