Man Arrested After Stolen Credit Cards, AK-47 Found in Car: Opa-locka Police

Police say officers found an AK-47 in a backpack, a black handgun under the passenger seat and another weapon in the car's glove compartment

A Miami man is facing felony charges after officers in Opa-locka say they found marijuana, stolen credit cards, fake credit cards and driver’s licenses and three guns - including an AK-47 - in a car.

Davin Antwan Bruce, 22, is facing eight counts of unlawful possession of a stolen credit card, 154 counts of fraudulent use or identification of a disabled veteran or government employee, one count of cannabis possession, one count of fraudulent use of a deceased person's identification and one count of carrying a concealed firearm.

According to an arrest report, officers were on patrol Saturday in the 900 block of Sharazad Boulevard in Opa-locka when they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from parked car containing Bruce and two other men.

When the officers searched the car they found five driver licenses and six credit cards belonging to different people, the report said.

Officers asked Bruce if he had any weapons on him and he said no but they found an AK-47 in a backpack, a black handgun under the passenger seat and another weapon in the car's glove compartment, the report said. Bruce didn’t have a concealed weapons permit for any of the firearms.

Bruce said someone had given him the backpack and that the items inside weren't his, the report said.

In court Monday, the count of using a deceased person's identity was dropped after the judge didn't find evidence for the charge. Bruce was ordered held on $26,000 bond.
