Man Arrested in Armed Robbery at Wilton Manors Restaurant

A man accused of robbing a Wilton Manors restaurant at gunpoint over the weekend was behind bars Monday, police said.

Andrew Gordon, 30, was arrested Saturday on charges including armed robbery and grand theft following the robbery at the Friendly Caribbean Restaurant at 2513 N. Andrews Avenue, Wilton Manors Police said.

Gordon was being held without bond Monday, and it was unknown if he's hired an attorney.

The robbery happened Saturday afternoon when the suspect pointed a semi-automatic handgun at a woman inside the restaurant and took her purse, cell phone and cash, police said.

The suspect fled before officers arrived, but he was caught after he was spotted running through yards in the nearby area, police said. The victim later identified Gordon as the man who robbed her, police said.

No one was injured in the robbery. Police are searching for the gun used in the crime and are asking anyone with information to call 954-390-2150.
