Man Arrested in Attempted Robbery Outside Jaxson's Ice Cream Shop

A man who threw a woman to the ground while trying to rob her outside a popular Dania Beach ice cream parlor has been arrested, authorities said.

David Nathaniel Farrior, 39, was arrested Wednesday for the attempted robbery at Jaxson's Ice Cream on March 8, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

Farrior was being held at the Broward County Jail Wednesday. No bond amount or attorney information was listed.

According to the BSO, the 24-year-old victim and her parents were leaving the parlor when she was suddenly thrown to the ground and dragged by the man.

Server William Cruz said the suspect had come up and asked what time they closed and moments later he heard screams for help. Cruz restrained the man but he struggled and was able to break free.

BSO officials said tips from the public led them to Farrior.
