Javier Jesus Alvarado, 21, is facing one count of bank robbery and one count of attempted bank robbery for the two recent incidents, officials said.

Alvarado was in federal custody Monday and was expected to make his first court appearance later in the day. It was unknown if he's hired a private attorney.

Officials said Alvarado robbed the Chase bank at 2209 Southwest 37th Avenue on June 22. He also tried to rob the Chase at 2750 Southwest 22nd Street on or about May 27, officials said.

Alvarado was arrested by the FBI, Miami Police and the South Florida Violent Crime Task Force on Friday, officials said.
