Pembroke Pines Dad Beat Driver Involved in Crash With Son: PD

Pablo Batten, 46, was arrested on charges of aggravated battery on a person 65 or older and resisting an officer without violence, Pembroke Pines Police said.

A man is facing charges after police say he attacked another man who was involved in a crash involving his son in Pembroke Pines Sunday night.

Pablo Batten, 46, was arrested on charges of aggravated battery on a person 65 or older and resisting an officer without violence, Pembroke Pines Police said.

According to police, Batten's 18-year-old son was involved in the crash shortly before 9 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Palm Avenue with the victim, a 65-year-old man from Hollywood.

Batten's son and the man stopped their cars and called police, and officers responded to investigate. That's when Pablo Batten arrived at the scene, grabbed the victim by the neck, and slammed him to the pavement, police said.

The victim suffered a major head injury and was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital for emergency medical treatment, police said.

Batten was taken into custody and booked into jail, where he was being held Monday on $10,000 bond, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
