A Davie man is facing charges after authorities say he struck and killed a bicyclist and fled the scene.
Carlos Miguel Lee, 26, was arrested Tuesday on charges including failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving death and destroying or tampering with evidence, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.
Lee was being held without bond Wednesday, jail records showed.
Officials said 46-year-old Maurice White was riding a bicycle around 2:45 a.m. Sunday when he was struck by a Chevrolet Impala intersection of State Road 84 and Ravenswood Road in Dania Beach.
White was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Impala fled the scene but a concerned resident who saw reports of the hit and run noticed a car parked in a neighbor's backyard hidden under a car cover and called police.
Deputies found the car and discovered it had been rented by Lee. Lee turned himself in to deputies on Tuesday after getting a lawyer.

White, who worked as a chief engineer for a yacht, is survived by his siblings in Gainesville and Ireland, officials said.
