Man Dead After Apparent Drowning at Warm Mineral Springs

An Illinois man is dead after authorities say he apparently drowned at a popular southwest Florida spring.

North Port officials say paramedics responded to Warm Mineral Springs Tuesday afternoon and found 69-year-old Bronislaw Pawlikowski unresponsive. A city spokesman says Pawlikowski had a history of health-related issues, and an autopsy will determine if any of those contributed to his death.

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports that the historic tourist destination, which has functioned as a small natural spa since the 1960s, closed temporarily Tuesday.
