Police say a man has died following a standoff at a house in northern Florida.
According to a news release from the Fort Walton Beach Police Department, 51-year-old Dwayne Taylor was found dead inside the home around 7 p.m. Monday. Police released few details about the standoff and Taylor's death.
The Northwest Florida Daily News reports officers arrived at the home around 4:30 p.m. after a 911 caller reported hearing gunshots.
Officers tried talking to the man via loudspeakers but received no response. The news release says that's when officers from Fort Walton Beach and Crestview entered the home.
No further details about the incident have been released.
Residents of nearby homes were evacuated during the standoff.
