Crews rescued a man from inside a Liberty City home that was on fire early Friday morning as an investigation continues into whether it was intentionally set.
The fire started shortly before 8 AM at a home located at the intersection of NW 59th Street and 14th Avenue. When first responders arrived, a man was barricaded inside, saying he thought someone was trying to harm him.
Once crews got inside, they pulled the man out of the home and put out the fire located outside a bedroom window. Crews also took one of the three dogs that were inside, but neither the man nor the dog was hurt.
Investigators are conducting interviews and haven’t ruled out the fire being intentionally set to hurt the man inside.
