Police investigating after man found shot in 900 block of SW 4th Street.

Police are investigating after a man was found shot in Little Havana early Thursday.

Miami Police said the man was found lying on the ground next to a bicycle in the 900 block of Southwest 4th Street with four gunshot wounds, three in the side and one in the arm.

He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Unit where his condition was unknown.

Nearby residents said they heard multiple shots.

"I just heard like four shots, like boom, boom, boom, real quick," neighbor Marcos Melendez said. "Thank God that nothing happened to my family."

Other neighbors said crime in the neighborhood doesn't stop at shootings. Diego Rodriguez, 18, said drug deals are also prevalent in the Little Havana neighborhood.

"I'm worried for my little sister and my little brother," Rodriguez said.

Several officers were at the scene collecting evidence early Thursday. Footage showed one officer placing what looked like a handgun into a paper evidence bag.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
