Man Hospitalized After Broken Bottle Stabbing in Hialeah

One man was in custody and another was hospitalized after a stabbing with a broken bottle in Hialeah Wednesday.

One man was in custody and another was hospitalized after a stabbing with a broken bottle in Hialeah Wednesday.

The incident happened around 10 a.m. in the area of E. 8th Avenue and 41st Street when the two men got into an altercation, Hialeah Police said.

One of the men grabbed the bottle, broke it and stabbed the other man several times in the neck, chest and other parts of his body, police said.

The victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert and his condition was unknown.

The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle but was located in the parking lot of a nearby McDonald's at E. 4th Avenue and 43rd Street. He was taken into custody without incident.

Neither the suspect nor the victim were identified. It's unknown what charges the suspect will face.
